CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Ron Sanchez, UVA basketball’s interim head mentor, is out as the program’s entire-time chief.
According to a UVA Athletics information release, Athletics Director Carla Williams introduced the decision Wednesday, March 12.
“I am grateful to mentor Sanchez for accepting this part through this kind of important time for the program,” Williams claimed, according to the information release. “Ron along with the staff delivered wonderful security, assistance and guidance steve kerr for the younger Males over the workforce and we've been thankful for his commitment to UVA as well as the values which have been foundational to Virginia men’s basketball.”
Sanchez was named Virginia’s interim head coach in October when Tony Bennett surprisingly retired a few months ahead of the period begun.
